Winter break Tutoring

LCSD1 to offer tutoring sessions at East, Central and South High schools during winter break

Seventh- through 12th-grade Laramie County School District 1 students will have a chance to catch up on school work before the end of semester. Free tutoring sessions will be available during winter break at Central, East and South high schools.

South High’s tutoring schedule is slated to be announced soon. Regardless of attendance area, seventh- through 12th-grade students may attend
sessions at any of the schools.

  • Central High, 5500 Education Drive
    The Chief Morning Star Academy will be open from 8 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22, Tuesday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 29 and Tuesday, Dec. 30. (Lunch is not provided.) Any secondary school student wishing to complete make-up assignments, including tests and/or assessments, is welcome. Certified English, math, science and social studies teachers will be available to assist with specific content areas. Students should enter through the north doors.
  • East High, 2800 E. Pershing Blvd., Cafeteria and Room 347
    Tutoring will be offered for any secondary student from 8 a.m.–noon, Monday, Dec. 22, Tuesday, Dec. 23, Monday, Dec. 29 and Tuesday, Dec. 30. Students should enter and leave the building through the front doors and are required to bring their own work and textbooks to the sessions. English, math and science tutors will be available. Students may attend to work on any subject.
  • South High, 1213 W. Allison Road
    From 9 a.m.–noon, Monday, Dec. 29, Tuesday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Jan. 2, tutoring will be provided in all core areas.

LCSD1 is preparing to launch a new service "Board Docs" that will contain all policies, agendas, board meeting minutes and other features this fall.  When the service becomes available, a link will be provided here (policies index), All existing board policy information, regulations and forms in this web site will be removed.  Please refer to the following PDF manual complete with latest amendments. Find your Student's Bus Route LCSD1 Transportation Department is offering a new, more convenient way for parents to check bus stop locations and times.
District Science Fair
On Saturday, Jan. 17, at Storey Gym, 2811 House Ave., Laramie County School District 1 will host its 41st annual Elementary Science Fair. Judging will be held from 8:30–11:30 a.m., and a public viewing will be from 11:30 a.m.–
noon. Award announcements will be made at noon.For more information, contact Jane Lessenger at 771-2455.
Laramie County Spelling Bee
From 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the LCCC CCI Building, Union Pacific Centennial Room, the Laramie County spelling bee will be held.
