LCSD#1 Career & Technical Education Mission:

The mission of LCSD#1’s Career and Technical Education Department is to expose students to a variety of career-based disciplines to provide the skills they need to enter the workforce and become a contributing member of society.

LCSD#1 Career & Technical Education Vision:

To measurably improve students’ access to quality career guidance and to expand students’ industry networks and mentorship opportunities in order to make sound post-secondary decisions.

Career and Technical Education Curriculum Coordinator

Lindsey has been the CTE Coordinator at LCSD#1 since July of 2021. Her background includes work as an elementary, middle school, and high school teacher of a variety of subject areas including math, science, English, social studies, reading, culinary, baking, and child development. She has a bachelor’s degree in Textiles and Merchandising, a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, and a certification in K-12 Administration. She previously worked as the Workforce Partnership Facilitator and is passionate about connecting students to the careers and training they want through learning opportunities in the district and in our community.

Adam joined LCSD#1 in August of 2022. His previous work includes running the Career Center at Laramie County Community College (LCCC), being the Program Director at GearUP on the LCCC campus, and has served in a variety of other community organizations including Youth Alternatives, Leadership Cheyenne, and served on the board of the Skilled Careers Foundation. Adam is constantly striving to create connections that mutually benefit students and community partners, as well as, develop student workforce skills through a variety of activities.

Lyssa has been with LCSD#1 for over 5 years, serving our schools as a substitute teacher. She has worked in a variety of technical fields which include healthcare, automotive, food service and hospitality. She has a bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis on literature. Lyssa also has been involved with Scouts BSA and helps to support her family's auto body repair shop. Lyssa could not be a better fit for the CTE department with her extensive knowledge of a variety of industries, her ability to manage large and unusual purchases and her experience in LCSD#1 classrooms. Lyssa prides herself on her customer service skills and her ability to solve problems. Please reach out if you have any needs in the CTE department.
