Military Information and Resources

The military is a wonderful option to learn technical skills, earn certifications, receive a college education, and serve your country. The military supports a variety of careers and provides world class instruction. To better learn about the opportunities and if it is a good fit for you, consider the following resources.

The ASVAB is a military tool that provides information to you and the military on your skills and areas of potential career focus. This exam is excellent for helping learn about yourself and careers that might be a good fit. You will not be recruited by the military if you elect not to be contacted. Consider this exam regardless of your military interest. Sign-up for the exam is in your counseling office at your home high school. For more information on the ASVAB, click here.

Recruiters- Recruiters are another great source of information on the military. LCSD#1 allows recruiters to visit school during the lunch period at our high schools. Consider stopping by or getting a schedule of visits from your counseling office. Recruiters are also available during mall hours at Frontier Mall.

JROTC- All LCSD#1 high school students have access to join a Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. This program will allow students to earn learn about service in the military. Instructors in these programs are also a great resource for questions and mentorship. If you need help locating one of these instructors at your school, ask a teacher, counselor, or principal to help you find their classroom.
