Boundary Waiver Requests

LCSD1 Elementary and Secondary Boundary Waiver Form 2026-2027

  • Submit this Boundary Waiver request by April 30th for parent/guardian to receive notification by the end of the school year.
  • Submit this Boundary Waiver request by July 24th for parent/guardian to receive notification by August 14.

Families must provide their own transportation to and from school. Violation of school rules, suspension or persistent tardies and/or absences will be grounds for revoking or denying boundary waivers. K-12 waiver process:

  • Prekindergarten students are not eligible for boundary waivers
  • One request per school year per student
  • Address verification at any school or submitted with your online registration and Online registration must be completed before boundary waiver submission
  • Students who currently have a boundary waiver and move during the school year may remain at their existing school for the remainder of the school year or move to their new school
  • Waivers are not official until both principals, and the Boundary Waiver Committee have approved the request.
  • Fresh Start—Prior to consideration, problem-solving with school administration must be attempted.
  • Programs—A waiver may be offered for students to attend programs offered only at specific schools with available space. Students should remain in good standing; otherwise waiver may be forfeited.
  • District employees—Requests are granted on a space-available basis for parent(s)/guardian(s) who are district employees and work in the requested buildings.
  • Grades 9-12 only: Varsity competition may be suspended for up to a year, for either approved waivers and/or forfeited waivers. (WHSAA Regulation 6.4 https://www.whsaa.org/)
