Elementary Jumpstart-6th Grade Programming

Purpose

  • LCSD1 summer programming offers students opportunities for continued learning, intervention, and enrichment through engaging lessons and activities.

Session Details

  • Dates: June 11th-July 17th (No School on Fridays)

  • Holiday Break: No School July 3rd

Hours

  • 7:30-8:00       Breakfast provided
  • 8:00-12:00     Instructional time
  • 12:00-12:30   Lunch provided/Busses pick up students to go home

Programming

  • Focus is to strengthen specific standards within grade level reading, writing, and math

  • Project based learning in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)

  • Access to additional opportunities such as field trips, teambuilding activities, collaboration, and more

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Each student will receive pre, mid, and post data regarding progress toward meeting goals. These reports will be provided to the students and the parents/guardians.

Transportation

  • Bussing will be available to and from the home elementary school of your neighborhood school.

  • Parents must make arrangements for student pick up and drop off at the home school bus stop at the appropriate times.

Program Expectations

  • Attendance: Students that miss more than 3 days may be dropped from the program. Tardies also count toward attendance. Please work with the Summer School Principal if circumstances arise that require an absence.

  • Behavior: The district discipline matrix will be followed.
