Student Readiness

  • Implement a detailed vision of high quality and engaging instruction. (1–3 years)

    | 1-SR-2:  Purposefully integrate technology to support instructional practices |

  • Ensure every student has access and opportunity to meet or exceed their growth expectations in reading and math. (2–4 years)

    :  Develop and implement a system for ensuring the reading and math guaranteed and viable curriculum is high-quality, intentionally developed, and implemented with fidelity.

    2-SR-2:  Develop and implement a comprehensive system for measuring student growth in reading and math.

    2-SR-3:  Develop and implement systems of intervention and enrichment in reading and math through MTSS.

  • Stakeholders will understand and participate in comprehensive and seamless transition experiences. (1–3 years)

    3-SR-1:  Create comprehensive processes, experiences, and supports at all transition periods PreK-12

  • Align curriculum and opportunities Pre-K–12 to build capacity to collaborate with every student and parent on aligning goals for post-secondary readiness. (3–5 years)

    | 4-SR-1:  Enhance capacity for participation in electives and extracurricular opportunities |

    | 4-SR-2:  Develop clear pathways to post-secondary readiness for all students |

Community Engagement

  • Establish innovative, student-centered community partnerships that extend beyond education to promote all areas of student readiness. (1–3 years)

    | 5-CE-2:  Build new structures and opportunities that allow business, industry and community partners to collaborate with LCSD1 with a goal of attracting and developing new and existing partnerships |

  • Engage all stakeholders in the developmental progression of students through clearly defined milestones and appropriate support. (1–3 years)

    :  Under the MTSS model, establish clear and consistent parent and community communication strategies regarding student progress (refer to 2-SR & 8-HE)

  • Create a team-based environment with all stakeholders to build a vibrant educational culture. (1–3 years)

    | 7-CE-1:  Enhance internal communication framework to foster trust and transparency among all employees |

    | 7-CE-2:  Create a transparent and open communication framework for all external community stakeholders |

Healthy Environment

  • Provide multi-tiered systems of support that foster the intellectual, physical, mental and social-emotional growth of each student. (1–3 years)

    | 8-HE-1:  Strengthen student wellness with a focus on school-based physical and mental health services |

    | 8-HE-2:  Implement Multi-Tiered System of Support to Include Evidence-Based Strategies at Building Level (refer to 2-SR) |

  • Provide an environment that fosters the intellectual, physical, mental and social-emotional growth of all staff. (2–4 years)

    | 9-HE-1:  Promote professional growth by implementing a competency-based professional learning and evaluation system inclusive of all employees |

    | 9-HE-2:  Develop integrated approaches to promote the well-being of each district employee |

    | 10-HE-2:  Use facilities to increase educational opportunities as well as to support the mental health and well-being of all students and employees |

    | 10-HE-3:  Provide safe and orderly schools |

    | 10-HE-4:  Leverage resources to systematically improve and enhance organizational operations |

Strategic Plan Evolution

Laramie County School District 1 worked with stakeholders to pinpoint areas of focus for the strategic plan. As a district, we understand the importance of input from our community, staff and students as we continually improve the education of our children.
