Dec. 1—Isaac Clay

Isaac Clay, a senior at East High School, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Dec. 1.
Clay was selected for his dedication both in and out of the classroom. He challenges himself with rigorous concurrent enrollment classes and works as an office assistant in the East counseling office, where he helps run passes and supports new students.
Clay is a five-sport athlete, participating in football, wrestling, track and field, lacrosse and baseball. He has served as captain of the football, wrestling and lacrosse teams and referees Sting soccer games.
Outside of school, Clay is active in the Boy Scouts and will earn his Eagle Scout badge this year. He serves as a senior patrol leader and has contributed many hours to community service, including helping with a recent suicide prevention walk.
After graduation, Clay will attend Chadron State College, where he plans to study criminal justice or pre-medicine and has committed to playing football.
Clay selected Travis Eldridge as his favorite teacher because he appreciates Eldridge’s open-mindedness and willingness to help students with whatever they need.
